Mark E. Duckstein has been affiliated with the Firm since 1987. Mr. Duckstein concentrates his practice on the representation of corporations and other business enterprises in complex commercial litigation matters. His practice primarily focuses on real estate litigation, including claims involving purchase and sale agreements, letters of intent, commercial leases, real estate-based financing relationships, disagreements among parties with ownership interests in real property, and other aspects of real estate transactions. He also has significant appellate experience, including 19 published appellate decisions and dozens of unpublished appellate decisions.

From 1995 through 2005, Mr. Duckstein served as Special Counsel to the Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance, in the Commissioner’s capacity as the Liquidator of Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company and MBL Life Assurance Corporation. In the course of that ten-year engagement, Mr. Duckstein assisted the Commissioner in successfully completing liquidation proceedings involving both companies, which included representation of those entities in various litigation matters and disputes with policyholders, creditors, and other insurance companies, and providing general business and strategic advice.
