Elyse A. Marcus is Of Counsel to the Sills Cummis & Gross Intellectual Property Practice Group. Her practice focuses on United States and international trademark, trade dress, copyright, licensing, e-commerce, IP audits and due diligence, and transactional matters.

Ms. Marcus has over twenty years of experience advising clients on the creation, expansion, management, commercialization and protection of trademarks, copyrights and related intellectual property. She has worked with clients, ranging from start-ups to multinational corporations, in a broad range of industries, including consumer products, health and personal care, cosmetics, fashion, clothing, restaurant, food, pharmaceutical, medical device, electronic, software, mobile, film, publishing and entertainment industries. She manages large and small trademark and copyright portfolios and is actively involved in assisting clients with the development, branding, packaging, licensing and advertising of products and services. She is also active with policing and taking action against trademark, trade dress, copyright and domain name infringement, including protest letters, actions and administrative proceedings in the United States and worldwide.

Ms. Marcus began her legal career at Pennie & Edmonds, a New York based intellectual property boutique law firm. Thereafter, she joined the trademark, unfair competition and copyright and the licensing practice at Day Pitney and the trademark department at L’Oréal USA.
