Governor, Legislature Tend to Treat School Violence as Local Issue

Peter Verniero, who co-chaired the NJ Safe Task Force, was quoted in this article regarding school safety.  The task force released its findings and former Justice Verniero stated that they were impressed with the substantial work that has be done on school safety which was the clear sense the Task force got from the testimony and the hearings.  In response, the governor in his package of gun safety proposals  said he would leave further steps to local communities to individually decide for their schools.
