Sybil R. Moses, a state Superior Court Judge in Bergen County and the first woman named as an assignment judge in New Jersey, announced her retirement from the bench as of October 1, 2008. “It’s not an overstatement to say that she’s one of the giants of the New Jersey judiciary,” said Peter Verniero. “In my various public capacities, I observed Sybil’s judicial work and have nothing but the utmost respect for it.”
