As of May 7, 2012, all polluted site cleanups will require a licensed site remediation professional (LSRP). According to the article, “cases that began remediation before Nov. 4, 2009, when the program’s interim rules were adopted, can opt in, while cases that started remediation on or after that date are required to hire an LSRP.” “Given the current rate at which LSPRs are being retained, 750 cases would have to opt in to the program each month for all polluted sites to have a consultant by next year’s deadline.
