Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Attorney with 10+ years of experience to join our New York office. The candidate should have both substantial IP litigation and IP transactional experience. The ideal candidate will have substantial trademark litigation experience combined with the ability to serve as the IP specialist on M&A transactions and other complex deals, conducting IP due diligence, drafting and negotiating IP provisions in acquisition agreements, and advising on licensing and technology-related contracts.

This is not a pure litigation or pure transactional role. We are looking for an attorney who can move comfortably between both areas, exercise independent judgment, and advise on cross-disciplinary IP matters. Broad experience across trademarks, copyrights, patents, and trade secrets is desired, with some trademark prosecution experience highly preferred.

• Handle trademark, copyright disputes and litigation matters.
• Support patent and trade secret litigation practice.
• Serve as the IP specialist on M&A transactions and other complex deals.
• Conduct IP due diligence and identify IP-related risks in transactions.
• Draft and negotiate IP provisions in acquisition agreements and other transactional documents.
• Advise clients on licensing and technology-related contracts.
• Provide counsel on a broad range of intellectual property matters, with a focus on trademarks.
• Work across litigation, transactional, and counseling matters and exercise independent judgment on complex IP issues.

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• 10+ years of law firm experience in intellectual property law.
• Substantial trademark litigation experience required.
• Experience with IP due diligence in connection with M&A or other complex transactions.
• Experience drafting and negotiating IP provisions in acquisition agreements.
• Experience with licensing and technology-related contracts.
• Broad experience across trademarks, copyrights, patents, and trade secrets.
• Trademark prosecution experience highly preferred.
• Trial experience preferred.
• New York Bar admission required.
• Strong drafting, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Excellent judgment and ability to work independently across litigation and transactional matters.

Work Schedule & Flexibility

Hybrid work environment: Full-time employees are expected to work at least 3 days per week in-office.

Salary and Benefits

Salary: $280,000–$320,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
