The Sills Cummis & Gross Real Estate Department is an interdisciplinary team that provides a full range of legal and related services to participants in all areas of the real estate industry. This position is for a transactional attorney familiar with real estate redevelopment in New Jersey and for general transactional work (leasing, financing and acquisitions) throughout the country.

Sills Cummis & Gross is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Real Estate Associate with 5+ years of experience to join our New Jersey office. The ideal candidate will have strong experience handling sophisticated commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing and development matters.

Requirements

  • Represent clients in a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, leasing, financing, and development matters.
  • Structure, draft, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, leases, loan documents, financing agreements, and related transaction documents.
  • Advise clients on commercial mortgage and mezzanine financings, preferred equity investments, and other complex real estate finance matters.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to provide practical, business-oriented legal solutions tailored to their objectives and industry needs.
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys across related practice areas, including land use, government relations, and corporate finance.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant commercial real estate transactional experience.
  • Must be admitted to the New Jersey bar; admission to the New York bar is strongly preferred, or candidates must be eligible to waive in promptly.
  • Strong experience in acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, development, and financing transactions.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client counseling skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters independently while working collaboratively within a team.

Salary and Benefits

  • The expected salary range for this position is $210,000 – $250,000 commensurate with experience.
