Charles H. Newman has more than 30 years of experience in a broad range of transactional
matters primarily focusing on the health care industry. Mr. Newman’s health care practice includes the
representation of a diverse group of clients, including health systems,
hospitals, medical groups, ambulatory surgical centers and other provider
entities. He has worked on a wide range
of health care matters including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and affiliations,
corporate governance, employment contracts, shareholder agreements and
operating agreements, managed care contracting, medical billing and practice
management agreements and real estate. Given the changing landscape of the
health care industry, he also provides advice and counsel on the many legal and
regulatory issues of particular significance to participants in the health care
industry, such as ACA, the Stark Law and corresponding state self-referral laws,
the Federal and State Anti-Kickback laws, and HIPAA.
Prior to joining Sills Cummis & Gross, he was a leader of
the transactional division of Kern Augustine, P.C.
