This year the program will focus on a number of increasingly important areas. Over the past several years the government has drastically expanded its treaty network and other arrangements to obtain admissible evidence abroad for the investigation and prosecution of criminal tax cases. Similarly, the IRS has greatly increased its ability to gather electronic evidence. The substantial changes to the federal sentencing guidelines will be reviewed and analyzed by experienced government representatives and defense counsel. The program also will provide nuts and bolts techniques for responding to a criminal tax fraud investigation.
