Laura Ortizio is an Associate in The Family Law Practice
Group of Sills Cummis & Gross.
After law school, Ms. Ortizio completed a dual clerkship
for the Honorable Miguel de la Carrera of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Law
Division, Passaic County. She served the first half of her clerkship with Judge
de la Carrera in the Chancery Division, Family Part of Essex County and served
the second half with Judge de la Carrera in the Law Division, Criminal Part of
During law school, Ms. Ortizio served as a judicial
intern to the Honorable John E. Selser of the Superior Court of New Jersey,
Chancery Division, Family Part, Passaic County.
She was awarded the Public Service Certificate by the New York Law
School Office of Professional Development for her voluntary service to the
public during law school. She was a 2011
and 2012 scholarship recipient from the Columbian Lawyers Association, First
Ms. Ortizio received specialized Family Law training
from the Rutgers University School of Social Work – The New Jersey Child
Support Institute. In addition, she completed mediation and conciliation skills
training from the Administrative Offices of the Courts.
