Marcia Jeffers is the Chief Marketing Officer of Sills Cummis & Gross. With a background in both law and communications, law firm marketing became a perfect fit.
In 2017 she was recognized as a "Top 25 Leading Women Brand Builder" by the Leading Women Entrepreneurs and Business Owners. In 2013 she was selected as a 2012/2013 Professional Woman of the Year within her profession by the National Association of Professional Women VIP Division. In 2012, both she and her Team were the recipients of three national awards: Top Private Company Marketing Executive for 2012 (CMO 250 List) by ExecRank, ranked number 11 on 2012 MLF Top 50 Law Firms in Marketing and Business Development, and 2012 Recipient of Web Marketing Association’s 2012 Web Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Web Development.
Marcia is frequently asked to speak at various forums. Most recently she participated in a panel at the 2017 Legal Marketing Association Annual Conference in Las Vegas talking about "Secrets to Building an Amazing Marketing and BD Department." She also spoke on "Building Your Own Brand" at Sobel and Company's Executive Leadership Breakfast. She has been interviewed on numerous radio programs talking about the best-seller book (15 million copies sold), Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway, written by her late sister Susan Jeffers, Ph.D. In November of 2016, she was a featured speaker in Amsterdam at a conference entitled "From Employee to Entrepreneur."
She is responsible for all aspects of the Firm's marketing and business development strategy, requests for proposals, collateral materials, website development, advertising, media placement, public relations, and works closely with the lawyers to enhance their relationships with the Firm's clients.
Before coming to Sills Cummis & Gross, Ms. Jeffers practiced tax and securities law in relation to a family of mutual funds headquartered in Massachusetts for many years. She then became the Vice President of Development and General Counsel for The New England Council, one of the country's oldest non-profit regional lobbying organizations. Following that, she became Executive Vice President and General Counsel of DynaSol, a multi-million dollar manufacturing corporation. Her communications skills were put into play when she became Director of Advertising and Corporate Communications for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts.
In 1999, she moved from Massachusetts to New Jersey. She was Director of Marketing at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton and has been the Chief Marketing Officer at Sills Cummis & Gross for the past 18 years.
