Judge Rules Grandparents Can’t Adopt Morris County Child

Daily Record

August 14, 2016

As seen in this article, “A Superior Court Family Division judge has ruled that a set of out-of-state grandparents cannot adopt a 3-year-old Morris County girl and went further, likening the adoption complaint to ‘the absurd scenario’ of a babysitter entrusted to care for a child trying to institute adoption proceedings.” Jan Bernstein was appointed by the Morris County New Jersey Superior Court (Family Division) to represent the biological father in this case. Ms. Bernstein stated, “This child was never available for adoption. It’s been a long road for the parents to untangle it all.  They are two really involved parents and the child is beautifully cared for.”
